After I’ve used a stainless steel pot for making soap, is it safely usable again for cooking once washed?

I saw some people say, supplies of soap should be used for the manufacture of soap, while others seem out of cooking pots.

No problem. Stainless steel is nonporous and will not hold anything over that it has been used for. Just a good cleaning is required to remove all the previous product.

i wouldn’t use it again just to be safe but set it aside if you want to do it again.

You are right, not everybody agrees. I’ve heard of unpleasant accidents happening to people who used the same wooden spoon for mixing soap first, and serving up dinner afterward – not a good idea!
In general, you can safely use for cooking any and all soapmaking tools that are made from nonporous materials, such as glass and stainless steel; just make sure you clean them carefully.
Wooden and plastic tools however can absorb some of the soap’s ingredients and would taste funny if used for cooking.
For useful suggestions on how to clean your soap making tools and easy-to-follow soapmaking instructions, I would suggest that you refer to the Soap Naturally book, http://www.soapnaturally.com
